Could be the brake pedal switch. The switch has two actions - the first slight press of the pedal disables the cruise control, a further press then activates the brake lights. Be worth checking the switch. Others on here have said it's a cheap fix and possible to do at home. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Generally, either a switch pack or wiring in behind the airbag

There are a few posts on the Disco3 site about similar problems associated with something called the 'clock spring' which is inside the steering wheel and is (unfortunately) around £300 IIRC. Think it makes the electrical contact from the wheel to the car.

Brake light switch swop never a bad idea as they have a limited life. Order one from site sponsor Duckworth parts and mention the forum to get 10% discount. Cheaper than eBay

While replacing the switch is always a good idea, due to them being a design, if you had a faulty pedal switch, you would have more issues than just the CC not working properly

The loom was replaced. Visually, it all looked fine, but obviously a hidden issue someplace. Was not expensive either. £12 inc VAT |
