Buyin a rrs what to look out for? Don't have a clue

Hi guys, new member of the forum,
I'm going to look at a 2005 55 hse this Saturday morning,
It's a 2.7 done 106k FSH lr up to 79, and I was hopefully to know a few things before going to look at the car so I have a bit of piece of mind as I have a 5 hour trip home so any tips or problems I shall look out for or try out would be very greatfull .
Thanks scott Very Happy

Make sure the belts have been changed. They're due at 105k miles / 7 years. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

If you havent't a clue, you might be better off to wait a while and clue yourself up by having a good read here. Lots of good things about these cars but lots of pitfalls and possible money traps as well. 106k is OK but no youngster. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2009 Buckingham Blue RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Gone - 2017 Chawton White RRS 5.0 V8 Supercharged
Current - 2010 Java Black RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Current- 2024 RRS P400 SE Dynamic

I agree with BKHK. There are lots of RRS about so you don't need to rush off. If you're looking at the leggy end of the market presumably budget is limited - take lots of care in that case because these things aren't a cheap-to-run option. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

As above, your looking at a car that could be great, could be a moneypit. Unless you're really clued up you might not be able to tell. Either set aside 50% of the purchase cost, buy a comprehensive warranty or take an expert with you. 07 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey, 20" alloys |08 XF SV8 on order.
