LTB00204v4

Does anyone know if this TSB is still relevant? Can I take my RRS in for this?

Many thanks

Ross

Is this one of the series of TSBs regarding front suspension knocking noises? The short answer is 'yes' Technical Services Bulletins describe diagnosis and fixes for problems. They are not the same as recalls.

The work and parts are not free though Big Cry

Doesn't seem quite right somehow - LR fixes an inherent design fault and then charges the customer for it. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Oh that is rubbish I thought it would at least be labour paid Sad.

Kind of makes you think is it worth taking it to main dealer or a specialist with a lot cheaper labour rate.

I do have one of the Extended warranties but they don't seem to cover much Sad

When you take your P&J in to the workshop (preferably a good indie) ask them to go step by step. So instead of going the 'whole hog' straight away and changing the anti-roll bar (ARB) bushes AND removing the front body dampers AND fitting the mass damper kit. Just ask them to do the ARB bushes first and see if that cures the problem. It's a quick and easy inexpensive job. It's been reported on here by the most reliable sources that an even quicker and cheaper fix is to fit shims to the existing ARB bushes. The shims are an official LR part designed for the purpose.

That's assuming the inspection shows the ARB bushes are shot and the other bushes in the arms and drop links and the ball joints are all OK. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Thanks Paddy, I will ask them to do that.

Got it booked in on Monday just to diagnose it etc no work being carried out.
Taking it to a local specialist DSE in macclesfield.
