Brake Vacuum Booster Pump Pipework (Brake Failure)

Third post.

Another issue discovered today during a drive.

Brakes suddenly went hard due to lack of vacuum.
Checked booster pump and found small diaphragm blown on the pipe work connected to booster pump. Hence loss of vacuum.

Anybody know where the pipe work/diaphragm valve can be perched and how do I know if my booster pump is goosed?

Last request. Can anybody explain how the booster pump knows to kick in? Loss of vacuum? When brake pedal is pressed?

There was a recall on the brake servo/vacuum pipe.

Have you checked to see if your vehicle had the upgrade?

I had mine done at the LR dealer a few weeks ago. Luckily they just had to fit the new style pipe rather than a new servo too.
All free of course.
