Love forums that offer constructive feedback! Never heard of long sightedness?? If the car was anything like reliable I shouldn't need to be reading fault messages ...... Quite bad that LR have to build in 'do it yourself' trouble shooting! Mike |

Chances are, your car will of logged the faults, so a trip to your dealer may be required to find the fault codes and get iit sorted before it breaks down completely |

Well how strange. As noted on your previous thread my car not only shares the 'diff noise' with yours but also the 'momentary power loss'. Mine does it less frequently, maybe once on a 30 mile trip and only when cruising at higher speeds - usually about 70 mph. Originally I thought it was a gearbox fault but recently started to think it is an electrical problem. Sometimes the 'HDC not available ....' message pops up but usually there is no message. If it happens when ACC is in use then 'Cruise control cancelled' pops up and cruise is indeed cancelled. I've had the gearbox fluid and filter changed with no discernible difference and recently renewed the battery - again with no apparent effect. Now I am thinking of looking into any of the sensors that can cancel cruise such as the brake pedal switch, throttle position sensor and so on. With great respect to Bodsy and D-Mikey who both obviously know their stuff I am inclined to think it isn't anything to do with EGR valves or turbo hoses since it is just a momentary hiccup. I changed the fuel filter a few months back. Keep us posted on the results of the dealer's investigation please. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE |

throttle preteometer (or however its said) would be a first change item for me...i used to have similar issues on a td5 disco (power and HDC issues) which were down to the throttle position switch failure Mike
