United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Baltic Blue
Instrument panel display

Just took delivery of my MY13 HSE Black, and so far it's a very impressive vehicle, particularly the SDV6 motor.

I also have an Evoque, which as most probably know has a very similar control/display layout. I noticed that the LCD instrument display between the dials is black and white in the Sport, whilst it's colour in the Evoque. This makes very little difference except Nav intructions are a little clearer in colour. However, I am wondering if the Sport really has a colour display, as the various warning icons which show at the top are colour.

Anyone know if there's a setting somewhere to colour-ify this display? Or is the monochrome screen a black edition thing?

Thanks!

If you look the warning indicators are not part of the main panel

The central screen is a little bit of a delicate topic, the original/early facelift sports were supposed to have the slaved unit to do nav - but it took until 2012 to get it.

whether its monochrome or a colour screen is insignificant if the software is set up to not display colour...personally i cant see the advantage. Mike

I see on the MY14 launch that the drivers instrument screen is colour, so I guess they have borrowed bits from the Evoque parts department. I've not seen any settings to change to colour.

My previous Audi had colour and can't say that I'm that bothered that the RRS has B&W to be honest Smile ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

To be clear - it doesn't really bother me either - I was just surprised given so much of the interior trim/controls etc seems to have been lifted straight from the Evoque for MY13 (and perhaps before, not sure) - which is no bad thing btw! - that LR didn't use exactly the same instrument panel screen. The graphics are nigh-on identical, only in B&W. As I said, the only thing that I really feel would benefit from colour is the nav directions.

Given the MY13 is the black edition, I just wondered whether the monochrome thing was a theme.

I believe the screen appeared on MY10 cars (I could be wrong) with the Sat Nav directions becoming available on MY12 cars. I have an early MY12 car and it's monochrome too, so nothing to do with you car being a 'Black Edition' Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
