Singing brakes

Hi All

My brakes have suddenly started to squeek when warm.... at around the 10-20mph when in traffic... bloody annoying!

Is this the 1st indication of "end of wear" fast approaching? RRS gone

Or you've got some grit or small stone stuck in there.
Happened to me a few times. Usually cleard by hard
breaking (like emergency stop) to throw it out. Obviously

If that doesn't work then find a friendly garage with a pressure air hose and get them
to give the brakes a blast. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Had this a while ago and it turned out to be a sticking brake piston.

If you're clearing a stone from brakes, it sometimes work better to brake in reverse as the stone is often near the leading edge of the pad for obvious reasons. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Very badly worn pads on worn discs will do that too, but shouldn't be speed dependent.

If the noise is coming from the rear, it could be the beginning of seized EPB shoes
