I have a full size 20" alloy with 275/40/R20 tyre and no problems apart from it being more visible as you mentioned. Keep it inflated to the specified pressure. |

It's also a very tiny thing, but it will also reduce your 'exit angle' from decents due to it protruding slightly more, but I guess that's not an issue for 99.9%% of people ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Ok.Fitted the RLD protector and got rid of the skinny spare. Totally impressed with the construction & quality of Uncle Ray's product ..............the laser cut 'R.L.D' in the centre of the metal plate is a nice touch also.

The obvious negative................if I get a flat tyre and there is no spare then the car either has to be towed away or I pay some emergency mobile fitter the best part of £250 to put a new tyre on if the damaged tyre cannot be repaired.
