Scotland 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Sounds like a sticky calliper. If its not covered under warranty LR do an exchange calliper scheme rather than having to pay full new price.

My money is on the parking brake shoes, mine has just done the same on the Disco with similar brakes fitted.
The armature on the shoes had seized so they would not release properly.

Quite a simple fix but don't leave it too long since mine later caused the EPB module to lock up which was a nightmare to fit myself.

I've spoken to a techy at LR warranty and he said if its mechanical failure it's covered under warranty.
So I'll see what my local garage says when they take a look at it on Friday.
I won't be happy if it costs me Evil or Very Mad

Incidentally my mechanic says the problems pretty common, he had two cars in yesterday with the same problem.
