Drivers swimming pool

Just got in the car 55 reg Sport with sunroof.
Drivers footwell carpet is swimming in water I am confident it is not the windscreen had a new one recently guy was really careful when he did it.
I am concerned because of all the wiring and it is still raining here
Thought you were supposed to wade on the outside not inside perhaps the first owner ticked a LR option box
Any help please
Regards broncoupe

Morning all
is there anything else it can be as the drain tube is clear and located correctly the end is clear in the wheel arch.
The water yesterday was over the carpet so as you opened the door it came out looked quite dramatic.
I have also removed the trim panels to lift the front drivers carpet have removed about 1.5 litres of water from carpet and loom areas
what is really odd is looking forward the bulkhead is dry and even the foam on the back of the carpet is dry at pedal height
But come down about 2 inches and everything is sodden
The head lining is dry and also the A pillar is dry the car also has a new drivers door body seal which is located correctly
HELP!!!

Have you tried pouring water through the drain tube to make sure it comes out the other end? I believe there is a 90 degree join which might have come undone.

Have you checked all 4 corners? There are drain tubes front and back on both sides.

Have you had any work done around the door area? New window regulator or door locks?

Has it got worse while car has been stood still or is it after driving?

Just removed door trim all grommets in place
Tasted water it's water no anti freeze taste
Tried blowing water down drain pipe it's clear water comes out in wheel arch got someone to watch with a torch to check where it goes through bulk head no leaks
What is odd is how some of tha carpet is soaked but a few inches either way is dry they must treat it with
something
Car has been garaged all night had sucked the water out of where the loom lies no it is full of water again
Do you have to remove the left foot rest to lift the carpet? How do you do that please
have released the drivers seat
Stumped

Not sure how to lift carpet mate, never done it.

Have you tested all 4 corners of the sunroof for drainage?

Have you had any work done on the car recently? Something that would have required body to be lifted or around the air con?

Nothing to dash except a new screen but the carpet was wet before that
I thought mistakenly it was related to the screen needing replacment
Haven't checked other drains but the near side is dry the offside rear is wet but only because of the water in the loom bit traveling back

VA, wouldn't that make the puddle in the passenger side?

Check the rubber gater between door and body.

I agree I wish people won't go on auto pilot when they see a question trying to be helpful left is left right is right
i know this and it has been such a frustrating day 9 straight hours on the car
I have given in and put the car back together not feeling confident only pluses found £2.20 under drivers seat
Hard to get drunk on that.
When I was looking at the loom between the bady and drivers door it was defiantly not locking properly
Into the body side so I have masticed it
I find it hard to believe no one else has had this problem
Thank for help so far
Broncoupe to be continued I think
