Yes, it can be run using a LR-specific diagnostic tool, or if you're a bit more hands on then the Webasto diagnostic software (free) and an adapter can connect to it and run it. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Hello all. My FBH is locked out (was informed of this when the car got remapped last year). I've read about a fuse removal - ignition off/on sequence that can sometimes enable the heater to reset.
Am I right in thinking that the said sequence is as follows?
Open bonnet,
Ignition off with key out,
let the car go to "sleep" (park brake lamp off),
remove fuse 28 from the engine bay fuse box,
put fuse back in after a couple of minutes and that's it?
This is what I found on the Disco site, but I'm sure I've read somewhere else the ignition should be on when fuse is removed.
Any pointers or links to the correct way of doing this would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

Do this (I wrote it up): http://www.disco3.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Fue...#Resetting

Ignition must be OFF. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Open the bonnet and if you have one fitted you will see this:
http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/post251393.html#251393

It's function can't be controlled (unless you have an aftermarket device) and will only come on automatically if the temperature is 4 deg C or lower, the engine is running and I think climate control needs to be on too.

I always knew I had it but reading some threads on this forum convinced me it was broken/locked out as I didn't see any smoke even today. Decided to check it out and three burnt fingers with the impression of the wrinkly pipe suggested otherwise Laughing

If you can't see any smoke, can't smell or hear anything unusual, one (relatively safer than mine) way to check it's working is to locate its exhaust pipe. It can be easily seen through the front offside wheel arch on a RHD car. Hold a piece of paper against that outlet and you will know if there is gas coming out of it.
