2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Alaska White
Body roll 55 plate hse

Hi all, just a quick one, I have done a search but cannot seem to find a difinitive answer. This is the 1st sport i have owned so im not sure if the ride is correct or not?

Basically it seems to roll about alot, ie when i turn a corner, the body doesnt stay flat, it leans. I was under the impression that these cars levelled themselfs ouy?. I can also feel every single bump in the road. The air suspension seems to be the same height in each corner. The zafira VXR I sold to buy this had a much better ride quality Smile

How do i go about testing the dampers?

On a plus note, I love the car. Best thing ive ever bought Very Happy

What are you comparing it with?
My BMW X5 and RR Sport both have about the same body roll in corners.

Sorry to say this but I think there is something wrong with it.

Mine does not have dynamic mode either but is very flat in the corners, so much so people comment on it as they don't expect it on such a tall car. Graham

It feels almost like your on a boat? I know the rear bags have recently been done and all four corners are the same height. I just get the feeling the ride should be better for a 40k+ car? How do you go about testing the dampers?

Definately somethibg wrong, my LR3 was a bit floaty but the RR Sport is tight as a drum in corners, no slop at all.

I notice that its a 2005 model and probably needs new shock absorbers with the symptoms that you have described, assuming of course that they have not already been replaced.

I was thinking the same. I don't think they have ever been replaced. Is there a way to test them? Any idea on cost?

Never had one for long enough to have to replace them.
Road test is the obvious test and from your symptoms they appear to have had it.

Is there a guide to fitting them at all? Do they just bolt out as there's no springs to compress ?
