The blackberry 700 series is also the only mobile phone that is approved for use onboard aircraft (ie unlike everybody else you don't need to switch it off in flight, even phones like my V3i which has an aircraft setting should be switched off onboard a planein flight). A useful function onboard a fighter bomber, a pain in the butt for all the other passengers on a Jumbo who have to put up with you waffling away to yourself inflight! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

They are correct VA, the only way to get email on the phone is to go to webmail over the net (3g internet connection). In terms of the cost, I got my deal in one of the high street vodafone stores on a new contract (moved off O2), if your contract is nearing it's end then the threat of moving to another provider may provoke a hefty discount??? O2 want £150 on an upgrade, they offered it to me for £70 over the phone when I said I was canceling - this however didn't change my mind as the Vodafone tariff's are very good at the moment - I got 500 any network minutes and stop the clock for £30 a month with the first 3 months at half price - O2 couldn't match it

If you are after data download though T-Mobile are doing a good deal where you can pay an additional £20 a month on top of your tariff to get unlimted data download; not sure if they do it but if you could get a T-Mobile laptop 3G card bundled in then this would be fantastic!

thats just what I was going to say while reading through the above posts Very Happy I currently use a HP IPAQ h6315 myself, and find it superb for mail/browsing and PC apps however phone system is a bit weak - kind of ironic really - so have been thinking about going back to Nokia as they do seem to make the most user friendly mobiles IMHO - had a call from O2 business a few weeks back offering the N80 free, but I wasn't really sure what it was at the time Confused - hows the battery life with them? I had the 8800 last year (cos it looked nice) and the battery only lasted about 2 minutes - very annoying - used it for about a week, and its sat in a draw ever since

When using it purely as a phone battery is pretty good but still not the same as bog standard phones, you need to cycle through 3 or 4 full charges and discharges before it gets to full performance. Using purely phone functions I have had 3 days out of it however as soon as you start using WiFi / Bluetooth it drops its charge very quickly - 1 full charge will last about a day........if WiFi is on constantly and you are moving data across the local network it will only last about 4 hours

Unfortunately Nokia phones are rubbish for anybody who travels outside Europe, USA and former British Colonies........ they haven't heard of Japan, Korea, South and Central America where there are different operating systems to the rest of the world. All the other companies have a good selection of quad-band phones, but not Nokia, yet. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim - the N80 is Quad Band and will work throughout the world !

The N80 is the first smartphone that can be truly described as a modern world phone. With quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and either 1900 (US) or 2100 (Europe) WCDMA radios, it will work almost anywhere in the world

Thumbs Up

What a lot of people do Tim , is buy off ebay [ unwanted upgrades ] this way you can get the lates phone imm. Then sell your own existing phone on ebay to offset the cost - and - when your upgrade date is due - upgrade then and resell the phone on ebay again. . . . . if you get my drift Confused
