Hi Robbo5522

If you are talking about the plastic mouldings located at the bottom of the doors, they just pull off. They are held on by plastc clips which are in two halves. The trouble is some of the clips are likely to break so you will have to get some replacements from your local dealer.

The small moulding bottom of the front wing has a couple of clips and one screw on the inner wheel arch.

The curved moulding over the rear wheel arch has a number of clips and if I remember rightly has one screw.

Mouldings are quite difficult to push back onto the clips without breaking more clips - trial and error I'm afraid.
Buy more clips than you need...!

FYI I removed all the mouldings for color coding plus fitting of sidesteps etc.

I think (not sure as he had so many "events" with his TDv6 Mr. Green ) that VA posted about this last year. IIRC there are two types of clip - white and yellow. Anyway if you try the search function I'm sure that you will find a post in the archives about refitting the side skirts- might be worth searching using "door trim" as the key words 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yep those are the clips.

Notice the clips are in two halves one white and the other yellow.

During factory assembly the complete clips white and yellow are inserted into a retaining slot in the mouldings. The moulding is offered up to the car body and the yellow portion squeezes through a hole in the car body.

When removing the mouldings either the white and yellow halves separate without breaking which is good Very Happy

OR the white clips fail in moulding and have to be replaced Big Cry

The trouble is even if the white clip doesn't break you then have the problem of trying to make the two halves clip together again when offering the moulding back to the car body.

Ideally what you need to do is to remove the yellow half from the car body and push it back onto the white half of the clip on the moulding. Unfortunately the yellow half pushes into the body easily but is very difficult to remove without breaking.

Anyone got any other ideas ?

Has anyone broken the yellow half on purpose and just pushed it in to the body for it to bounce around forever Whistle

Really having some trouble here. The bottom row of the moulding isn't clipping back onto the yellow clips that are in the door. I tried to remove the yellow clips but this is impossible as it seems once these clips are in the only way to get them out is by breaking them - even still, the back half of the yellow clip would fall into the doorframe.

Is there a special technique to this?

Help!! I went from a Mini Cooper to a:

>> Range Rover Sport (HSE)
>> Midnight Blue
>> '06
>> Hawke Grill, Engine Tuning, Exhaust System
>> Sitting in 20s (need to upgrade to 22s - let me know if you have any for sale)
>> Rear DVD screens
>> Full Beige Leather Interior

Talk about the extra room! Jheez!!
