had autoglass replace the windscreen today after a stone chip grew into a very large crack. Excellent service far removed from the last time I used them 10 years ago when the method of removal was to kick the old windscreen out! 2 guys arrived promptly at the house and completed the job within an hour. Fascinating watching them work, the tools/techniques used and attention to detail was a real surprise.

At £75 it'll probably not be a Land Rover part. Autoglass use their own as standard. Look as see if it has the Land Rover marking.

it's a Pilkington part so almost certainly legit. Unless Autoglass now make their own twin layer, laminated, acoustic, heated-filament-integrated glass. Which is probably unlikely. One assume they charge the difference to the insurance company, who in turn squeeze Autoglass in return for some sort of exclusive deal. ============

Had mine replaced through insurance a few weeks back. £60 excess and I asked how much it would cost if I was to pay myself. They told me that the insurance company gets 40% discount and they were being billed £750

You need to specifically request a LR part from auto glass otherwise they will give you their own screen.

LR part usually requires special approval from your insurer and a lead time on the order of 5-10 days, Ive had 3 done during my ownership. Incidentally there isn't any additional charge for the LR part as a customer your well within your rights to specify a Manufacturers part.

Glad your screen went well. mine on the other hand,two guys from autowindscreens did mine and left to dents on my bonnet and on the same day i had a stone fly up and chip it

I thought the acoustic glass made your in car singing sound better till now.....
