Car going mad after changing the altinator

Just got my altinator replaced and now having som wierd stuff going on....

Yesterday I started the car fine but then the radio / navi started to turn itself on and off and I could heard a typical electicitysound going up and down.
I also got the yellow warning light on adaptive lights Shocked . After 1 min the radion got back to normal and after 30 min the light in dash cleared ........ had about 13.5 to 14.00 voltage with the engine on and at several speeds .....

Today I started the car with no problems, but again radio / navi going mad for about 10 sec and yellow parking lights came up in dash Shocked .... Everything was gone after 10 sec. 14.5v voltage on the way to home. Thumbs Up

Anybody have any suggestions here?? Is it the battery that is struggling or is it the job my dealer did when changing the alternator? Purhaps charging the battery may work?? new battery?? RRS 2006 2.7 HSE

if you havent charged the battery (on a proper charge) since having the alternator replaced, then that would be the first thing.
Alternator should be kicking out between 14 and 15.5v should be nearer the higher end of the scale if the battery is not charged. Bodsys Brake Bible

Just had a quick look and looks impressive and well designed. Has anyone used them and know where they can be purchased from and how much? TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

I have used it before. Works very well. Plug and play and gives you an indicator of the battery level in a nice white LED. Turns it self on and off Smile Cost £60ish here in Norway.

Haven't used the 14.7V button yet because I dont know if my battery can take it.... RRS 2006 2.7 HSE

Your battery will take the 14.7 v charge no problem, the charger will sense the battery voltage and set the current to suit the status of the battery. It sounds like you may have some other type of fault somewhere unless of course the voltage regulator on your new alternator is dodgy......is it a genuine LR Alternnator? TDV8 HSE....Gone but not forgotten ....class act

I think its a genuine LR alternator...after a test I could see the voltage was about 15.8 and down to 13.0V

It lasts for 1 min and then everything is fine again....could it be the alternator that gives the wrong Volt or the battery?

You can hear snapping sounds from the battery area when it starts to go crasy before its goes back to normal 14.5 V RRS 2006 2.7 HSE

Started the car today and got a voltage fron 13,5 to 16,5 Shocked damn high!!!

Must be the battery I think now. Went back to 14,5 after 30 sec. RRS 2006 2.7 HSE
