They're made on the same line - one LR4, one RRS, one LR4, one RRS, etc. |

how sad ..... seems to me that one by one all original forum members are turning their backs on the RRS and move to different brands and eco-friendly non 4x4 cars. and I am beginning to wonder why you guys got you a LR in the first place. Actually i see these pioneer drivers/owners actions as something akin to frustration that has been building up through the years of 'PAINFUL' ownership via their wasted time/efforts & not to mention, wallet wilting experience which am sure they all get in lorry loads again & again. Fm all the comments i've been reading these short 48 hrs fm various LR forum, i gather that there's a groundswell of resentment fm owners who have had it above & beyond fm shoddy built quality/ electrics that is worse then a prima donna on her worse day (very frequent i might add) & indifference from LR & their agents (some are good but most that i've read are left very much to be desired) The only redeeming quality LR or make that RRS has been left with is the smart marketing hype that surrounds the LR badge. If LR follow the footstteps of Alfa, then we'll surely see a dawn of a early demise of a great brand. I was on the verge of signing on the dotted line for the MY2011 RRSC but have to say tthat i was shock beyond belief hhow shabby the built quality of RRS are with so many innumerable owners facing problems which i doubt any brands of cars give (even China Made cars do not act up anywhere like a LR) 1 esteem owner sums it up best by saying that he is done with 'worrying'after off loading his RRS, humm i know i would if i am him. Imagine being far from home/dealer/workshop & your car throws up christmas tree lighting on crawl mode- that's freaking scary if you ask me. |

I thought long and hard when my last RRS was due to go back about what to replace it with, originally decided it had to be a FFRR but couldn't afford the prices which had shot up after Christmas because of the snow.

I would have kept the RRS but because of the poor MPG it was a wise move to sell it, that coupled with the cars age and the miles I had done. I didn't want to have a car like the RRS after 3 years with no warranty and high mileage. I have a new E-class now which I got a good deal on, I got free servicing for 3 years, at least 1/3 better mpg, £250 cheaper road tax a year, cheaper monthly payments, cheaper insurance etc. etc. I will be saving in the region of £5k a year by switching.

I would take most of the negative comments on forums with a pinch of salt They arent actually that bad or any worse than any other make - but there are a lot of wingers AND the most important difference, certainly in the UK, most of the dealers are just S t Ive take service actions for an issue in from LR and the dealer still didnt get it Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

Forums only represent a fraction of people and of which i bet you would find 50+% of those only come to a forum to seek advice or to air a grievance and are not regular. You could then argue that of that people who have bothered to find a forum are likely to be more vocal/more angry/more anti something - the next result - even if you add all the forum users they wouldnt total 10% of sales - then of that if only 50% of them have a problem then thats 5%...overall not very representative of a problem Go further and compare the % volume of sold across makes and it become even less representative. So what i was getting at is, people on forums are more likely to highlight issues and for those to be documented, that of those - the significance against volume produced is low...hence why i would take the real negative comments with a pinch of salt. Still blame the dealers more than the vehicle Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |
