Do have any warranty at all? Premature failure i'd say considering cambelts don't need changing till 105000 miles, thanks for the update, where do you go from here? Where did i see a engine and box for sale yesterday? i'll have a search.

Hi, it's actually the chain that links the two camshafts which the dealer says never go, I have been in touch with LR customer services who are looking into this, hopefully they'll come through but not banking on it, even if i buy a new engine else where i still have to get car recovered to someone to do it, running out of patience
with it now as it's been three weeks without a vehicle and am reluctant to hire another in case I finish up with the bill.

Hi tim, i was speaking to the technician who assessed your motor today and he told me that they were going to fit a new chain and see if there is any damage to the rest of the engine, he said "quote" LR have said if the chain snaps it shouldn't cause any damage to the engine, he also told me they shouldn't snap in the first place, fingers crossed for you mate, Why has your drivers window got plastic over it?

Hi Ady, I wonder where all them pieces of chain go when they fly off, my baby looked very sad last time I left her with not even a wash straight from site.

Hi Ady, the chain links the two camshafts on the left head so when the chain broke or in the case diseintegrated the pieces of chain may well be amongst the valves etc, i meant winding me up over the window

No mate, the drivers side front window had a white plastic cover over it, if your car has a private plate on it starting with a "T" then it was yours.

Hi, good news, LR have accepted full responsibility and are to install a new engine at
wait for it, there cost for the full operation and also admitted that the first dealer didn't
do the diagnostics correctly or identify the problem and given me the details of franchise manager to request a full refund. So just awaiting the phone call to say it's ready, five days estimate, but ine more week won't kill me now i have the right outcome, Hats of to ROCAR MOORE, HUDDERSFIELD Thumbs Up , And GUY SALMON, SHEFFIELD, NEVER AGAIN Big Cry

Nice one Thumbs Up
Great result, I would take your findings to guy salmon and have it out with the dealer principle and just let him know what a shambles of a service he his running there, and point out you have let it be known on this site, that could of cost you one hell of a lot of money, i'm really happy you've got the result you deserve, well done rocar moores, told you they were good chaps down there. Thumbs Up
