Transmission fault

Hi all I am all new to this and didnt expect to be on ere so soon I have just naught a rr sport hse tdv6 2009 model from northern Ireland I got it home last night and after 200 miles had a transmition fault the dash said htc fault, transmittion fault limited gears available, engine system failure, and engine wil not start now. For a 30 k piece of kit didn't expect this is it common or not has anybody had this problem just like an heads up before I take it back got a teq guy looking at it today just don't want to be fed any rubbish thanks a lot dean.

Hi and welcome to the site, sorry your first post is not a good one, First off i'd check your battery terminals are good and tight, if all is good have your battery and alternater checked, if all is still good, it may be as simple as a foot brake pedal switch. hope you get it sorted without too much cost, if its none of the above then it will need plugging into a computer to find the fault codes that will be logged.

1st point of call would be to check your tail light bulbs

2nd is recovery to dealership as Ady said, to read the fault code(s)

Hopefully a quick and simple gremlin and not something expensive like a compressor etc. RRS gone
