Low washer fluid warning / leak on the washer tank

Hi there,
I just wanted to share with you the following problem I had lately with my RRS. I had the 'low washer fluid' warning on. Even though I filled the tank in the evening and got the signal cleared, the next morning it appeared again. Where I was parking (on grass) I could not realize that the fluid dropped away during the night due to a crack/leak on the washer tank. The guys at the garage (they just repair LRs) told me that it was not the first one they saw with this problem, it seems to be common. So before you think it is a bad sensor, do a check on the washer tank.

The washer tank can be fixed by a special glue (i.e. the crack can be filled), so you might not need to have the whole washer tank changed. It is not a big work, since only the front bumper must be removed, after that the washer tank is reachable and they can remove it easily by unscrew the screws. Do not let them fool you. Thumbs Up

Hi Guys.

Ia had the same problem with my car, the washing fluid just disappeared,
and I got a puddle on the ground instead

I didnīt had to take the front bumper off, I just loosened the inner wheelarch,
and got access to the tank that way.

In my case it was a o-ring in the connector to the tank that was bad.

I did a "dirty"-repair.. (silicone).

Best regards
