2010 TDV6 or TDV8

for a 1800 pound difference would you go TDV8 instead of TDV6?

are the tailpipes of the 2010 V8 straight out the back or facing down as on the old tdv8?

anyone knows wether the new TDV8 is euro 5 compliant?

thanks for helping!!

Definitely go for the TDV8.

I think the TDV8 (which isn't "new" by the way, it's the same TDV8 as before) is Euro 4 compliant, not 5.

I know the new TDV6 pipes now point straight out, but not sure about the TDV8. It may now have a DPF, which would allow them to run the pipes straight out as opposed to downwards....

Someone else should be able to confirm.

My MY08 2.7 has DPF and pipes still go down, so don't think they are linked..

i thought their was 5K differance in price not £1800

in Italy the difference between tdv6 and tdv8 is 5k euros but tdv6 does not have dynamic response and a few other gizmos..
so if you add this optionals up to the tdv6 base price the difference is a little more then 2000 euros (1800 pounds)

They do if you have the particle filter fitted. If not the pipes go down ! First MY10 Sports were fitted as standard with particle filters but now are an option. MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,

MY07 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, Gone

Guys...

I'll talk to the dealer when they're back from lunchbreak... and...

get that

TDV8 ordered Very Happy

thanks lots for the fulfilling posts!!

PS. I called Land Rover UK and Italy asking about euro5 and straight pipes on tdv8.. but they did not know what to answer.. called the Germans and the answer was that:
TDV8 IS EURO5 - HAS A FAP FILTER AND HAS STRAIGHT SLASHDOWN MUFFLERS Thumbs Up

this twin turbo V8 is definetly a "Sir" engine + with a little chipping you take it to 330 horsepower and 750+ nm ... easy...

That's strange because both old tdv6 and tdv8 were Euro4 with or without DPF.

You need to check this again 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

LR website is much better than it used to be, but couldn't find that info there.... might be worth a look in GTR though.

I guess meeting the euro.. compliance means that the same engine need to keep its emissions of CO2X100km below the standard requested in order to get the euro.. approval

so.. most likely the tdv8 with FAP filter and some minor ecu adjustments can meet the euro5 compliances

.. I am just guessing here

Could be but I wouldn't assume it has actually been certified, if that's important for what tax you pay?

I'd rather have downturned tail pipes than a DPF......can always change the pipes later, but the dpf will cause you problems for a long time.
