Thanks for all your helpful replies. So it seems that 45 isn't the way to go after all and Hankooks get mixed reviews. From what I have read, Pirellis seem to wear out faster than most.

Thanks. Did you stick with the 275/40 or try the 275/45 and if so, did it affect your speedometer? Which Pirellis do you recommend?
