Still fixed so far and driving better than it has in ages.
It turns out the odd clunk I get from the transmission wasn't related it still does that, but engine and driving much better overall |

Thank you to everyone who offered help and advice.
Fitted new oil temperature sensor two days ago and the car is 99% better. The fault was intermittent but I feel it's fixed this time.
