Sand mode remaps the suspension and engine ECU's and disables the DSC and gives suitable engine performance for the conditions................... the only harm it would do I suspect is to your wallet as the engine will not want to give it's best for on the road and you would lock out all the higher gears. Bit pointless really when the techies have given a ECU setting for on the road, why would you want to run in the Sand mode? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for the reply, only reason I would use sand mode around town is because it makes the engine a bit more responsive at low speeds, which you need sometimes when you have to be quick of the mark |

If you want that, switch to sport mode... or alter your driving style to fit how the car performs. Sand mode isn't designed to make your car quicker on road and with the various other changes it makes to the way the car responds, I wouldn't suggest this was a very sensible thing to do.

I did want to chip the sport, but my insurance company would not entertain the idea. |

cheapest way is to change your driving style, once you realise that you need to press the accelerator 5 seconds before you want to pull away at roundabouts and junctions its a doddle ! The only time youll come unstuck is if that f delay thats always there disappears....

Ok im all for being honest, but what if you bought a car and it was chipped and you didnt know, so therefore you wouldnt tell your insurance co, so whats the point in telling them if you do know, apart from you being honest and paying more money some of my Previous cars -------------------------------- P38 Range Rover Autobiography RRS 2.7 HSE Silver RRS TDV8 HSE silver FFRR Vogue black Disco3 HSE silver RRS 2.7 HSE silver RRS 3.0 HSE BALTI BLUE ______________________________ current vehicles RRS 3.0 L494 Autobiography Audi R8 V10 Spyder AC Cobra Landrover Defender 90 Landrover Defender 110 Suzuki Jimney |

That's a different matter. You can always argue that you were unaware of any modifications - you're not being dishonest.
