Mrs H likes the Cayenne!!

Cliff - the Cayenne IS a good car, despite our partisan views.

The downsides are: It's obviously FUGLY and the 4.5 V8 in the S goes through fuel like you would not believe. Interior imho is a little bit low rent, compared to the RRS and def the FFRR.

The upsides: Probably the best driving SUV on the market. It IS a Porker after all. V8 sounds fantastic. Personally I think it sounds better than the SC with standard exhausts. It's actually verging on being quick too. I'm no offroading guru, but I'd be surprised if an RRS can do anything the Porker can't do.

It's not a sensible buy Cliff... but if you can justify the looks and the crap mpg, it might be worth a punt. But you have to ask yourself - if you can justify the mpg, why not look at an older model RRS SC? Question

Good suggestion Envoy. Oh, and dont forget to mention texstar that your brother-in-law is the Producer of BBC1s Watchdog!!! Wink Whistle
I did contact a company that do independent inpections, but they just asked where I got vehicle from, and after telling them, I never heard another thing from them....... they didn't seem interested, Does anyone on here know of any decent vehicle inspectors?........... I must admit I'd love to put it on watchdog, but really, how sympathetic do you think the general public would be, to someone with a few problems with a gargantuan diesel guzzler? Not very, sadly I'm afraid. Rolling Eyes

It might we worth pursuing another company, i can understand there reluctance to get involved when the car is still under warranty, but would of thought if nothing else they would give you some advice or an off the record opinion, why not try one of the motoring organisations, or this might sound a bit daft but your bank, i have used my bank in the past when i have had a dispute with a supplier/retailer.

As Brian said mabybe just the mention of trading standards or watch dog or even topgear, may help, or breakdown in tears in the middle of a packed showroom might do the trick

Failing that touch it, claim on the insurance and buy something else Wink

What ever you do, all the best with it some of my Previous cars

Just a quick suggestion...

Take out another RRS from a different dealer for a longish test drive and see what the difference is. You can then go back and compare like for like. Then if they still refuse to lisen take out the service guy in both cars. If they still dont agree there is a difference, get it in writing.

Then go the indepndent inspection route. I know its a pain in the arse but some times you have to get the ammunition together to fight the war. Thumbs Up MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,

Shmoogle you are having a laugh aren't you about off road ability. You are talking chalk and cheese here. The TR system makes the car unbelievably good even in the hands of a novice. It is a bit like comparing a Freelander1 to a RRS, yes the Freelander is capable off road but is not in the same league with the capabilities of the RRS. That having been said I suspect the off road abilities are not really important here
