Hmm, that doesn't seem too bad really? 2mm in 6.5k.., that means you're going to get around 20,000m from a set of rubber on a big helfty 4x4. Could be a whole lot worse? |

Legal limit is 1.6mm not that you would want to get down to that |

Well, if a tyre starts with 7.5-8.0mm tread, then you've used an average of either 1.5mm or 2mm. So, the remaining 4mm+ of tread represents slightly more than 2/3 of your tyre life. With just less than a third gone after 6400m, 20,000m looks a likely distance they'll go before you hit the 1.6mm replacement limit that Cliff correctly stated. Having said that, I think you'll find most experts would recommend replacing tyres well before 1.6mm as the road-holding quality and wet characteristices will have significantly diminished. I have driven 30k and still had 4 mm on my previus super charged 275/40/20 - but they shoot you when you drive over 70 in holland Range Rover Sport TD V8 2007 "first edition"
