Am I alone in getting regularly flashed by other motorists thinking I've got my high beam on when in fact it's only dipped headlights? Oncoming cars suddenly dazzle me with their main beam, and tonight the car in front put his hazard lights on, then starting braking suddenly, in attempt to get me to turn off my dipped headlights?

I've not had people flashing me, however I always think they are too high - you can see the top of the light jut catching the interior of the car in front sometimes |

hear what your saying Jay, but height of the car doesn't matter - the max level for dipped lights is the same whatever you drive |

Thanks Kaine. Yes, I thought the same- when you sit in traffic, the headlights often illuminate the back of the driver's head in the car in front. I've seen them adjust the rear view mirror downwards too.., poor sods!!! I'm sure the alignment is correct and legal, it's just that (as Jay says, in his inimitable sledgehammer fashion) we're so damned big compared to other normal "small" cars. I suppose the only way to avoid this problem would be if LR designed the RRS with the headlights lower (silly) or the beam angle itself was aimed steeply downwards (even sillier). But buses and lorries dont get flashed so why do we? |
