I believe also that the new one is available as a 2WD pseudo offroader or a 4WD.............. do you know if this is so? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I also went to see the new ML with my wife before buying the RRS. We were quite disappointed with the interior and the specification (except for the 7 speed transmission).

I am certainly no Merc fan and would never buy an M-class but I have testdriven the new 320CDI twice and can only tell you that that would have been an appropriate engine/auto combo for the RRS. Just go and try and you'll see what I mean....

Hi Roland, I think you have to take into account that RRS is about 450 kg heavier than the ML. So, it's no wonder that the TDV6 is a bit underpowered for the RRS.

True enough, they do inded come from very different approaches of design and the RRS (unfortunately) is a much heavier vehicle but nevertheless, the Merc has 30 more BHP and 510nm/1600 torque married to a perfect 7gear automatic.

Mercedes are opening a new centre 1/2 mile from me on the old Brooklands circuit - I might tease them a bit when it opens and test drive a few of their cars around their new test track. Suckers 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
