United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

I had something similar with my Jaguar S type R, sealed for life gearbox that started to play up. I got a service kit (plastic sump) and it transformed the whole thing… money/time well spent.

Changing the oil, even if only a partial change, refreshes the additives in the gearbox. These are important so an improvement in them will help the gearbox work better. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Orkney Grey

Evening All,

I was going to start a new thread but thought it would be best to piggy back off this one. I will be replacing the transmission oil, filter and sump very soon and was just wondering whether anyone had any recommendations for which kit to buy?

Many thanks!

I'm still not convinced we have a good argument for oil change, mega flush, or new removable pan.

Keen to know as I want to do mine in the next couple of months. L320 Range Rover Sport 2008

Mega flush replaces all the oil (well, around 98%)

A fluid change with plastic filter replaces ⅓ of the oil. The filter doesn't ever really get dirty, its a coarse gauze

A fluid change with a steel sump leaks for fun. They are easier to fit than the plastic filters, it only replaces the same amount of oil as the plastic sump

Given that most issues are caused by debris suspended in the oil, a mega flush is always my preferred option, to clean it all out Thumbs Up
