New Windscreen!

Huge stone from an Artic on the A46 put a big bullet hole in my screen and it’s now propagated into a large crack 🙁. I’m insured with NFU so shouldn’t be a problem, it’s a £95 xs. Anyone had this happen and experience any problems - I’m conscious there are a lot of cameras etc behind the screen. I’m also keen to ensure that I get a genuine LR item and not some aftermarket one that doesn’t fit! Cheers

Thanks any problems with the fit? Did they come to your home to do it and how long did it take?

Had it fixed by Autoglass at their place in a car park.Left it there for a couple of hours.
No problem with the radars which I think they recalibrated.
They commented that LR kept them in business 😂

Good morning

My experience, albeit with an L494, was that my request for an OEM windscreen from my insurance company (Admiral at the time) was agreed without hassle. The installation process went very smoothly, and the front facing camera worked fine, but the calibration of the rain sensor failed and in the end a decision was made to install a new one.

To get to that point there were at least 3 re-visits from Autoglass where they tried a variety of 'resetting' processes. None worked, but the new sensor did. As a gesture of goodwill I got my excess paid back to me and they advised that they will change their Installation guidance notes for future use. "Every Day is a School Day"

I had mine fitted by Autoglass with a genuine LR screen, no problems, just couldn’t drive it for a couple of hours. No problems since fitment over 12 months ago.

I just had to make sure it was the correct type as mine is a heat reflecting screen and seemed to be an issue at the beginning. 2022 P510e RRS AB Frenze Red

Thanks everyone. NFU use National Windscreens now, so it’s due to go in next Friday, there was no quibble re OEM glass though the excess goes up to £114. And they say it can take up to 4 hours ! Hope they have WiFi 😢
