At last we had some frost on the windscreen this morning and I was able to use my newly fitted heated screen feature.

For a minutes or so nothing happened and then the screen suddenly became defrosted. There were no lines of partially defrosted glass, it all seemed to work with the whole area heating equally. Very impressive !

However !!

It only worked on the driver's side and some investigation has determined that there are two sections of the screen, each controlled by a separate fuse.

I don't have a fuse layout diagram, therefore would be grateful if anyone knows the location of the passenger side heated screen fuse. Hopefully it's just that and not a dicky screen.

Have a look at the underside of the engine bay fuse box lid, they should be listed there, only from memory but I think they are 30 amp "J" type fuses the bulkhead end of fuse box, numbers 2 and 6 ring a bell, think they may be pink coloured with clear top, not sure which is o/s and which is n/s, but that's on the 12/13 cars but may be different position and type of fuse on 10/11 cars.

Smashing - many thanks Col and 10/10 for random knowledge !

Just had quick look at wiring diagram, on a 10/11 car could try fuse's 15 r/h and 18 l/h still 30amp. Might need to check that they connected the N/S back up, connection is behind the "A" post trim.

15 and 18 is correct Col - both fuses intact. Will have a look at the connection behind the A Pillar trim. Does it just pop off ?

there is a cap on the internal A pillar, marked Airbag, you pull this out slightly. (it's retained on a strap I think), and then undo the torx bolt behind it. maybe T25

The screen connection is a flexi.

The other thing you can do is remove both fuses, and measure the resistance between battery ground and the fuse.

The screen connection should be very low.
Be interesting to see what the passenger side measures (complety open or high resistance)

Also check the screen has a good ground.
And 12v when on

Thanks Andy - to measure the resistance I complete a circuit using the battery, across each of the fuses ? Got a multimeter, using it to it's full potential is still work in progress !

you put the meter into beep mode, or better still 200R

Test it, by touching probes together, and you should get nearly zero

Remove BOTH fuses

put black lead on the battery - (earth)

Touch the red lead onto the terminals where the fuses would go.

On the working side (drivers), one terminal should be nearly 0 (note this 'good' value)
Other side of fuse will be open.

Then check passenger fuse in same way
