P510e

Been offered a good deal on a P510e Autobiography, and wondered if anyone had any good information on how this model performs.

Currently running a D350 First Edition but looking at the way things are going with emission zones etc starting to think maybe it is a good route to follow with the hybrid version.

I do mostly shorter journeys up to around 20 miles daily with up to 50-70 miles a couple of times a week but do do long distance every so often, around 600 miles every few months.

Insight and thoughts would be appreciated. 2023 D350 FIRST EDITION, SANTORINI WITH CLOUD/EBONY

The PHEV would be ideal for the shorter journeys and in most cases won’t fire up the engine at all. We have a small P300e Evoque to go with my D350 RRS and it is great for short runs (which are not good for a big diesel).

However on the longer 600 mile runs you will soon run out of battery and then are carrying a dead weight so consumption will go up. All in all from what you say the P510e seems to be most suited.

Doesn't the system work to keep the battery always available? Surely it doesn't allow you to empty it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

There is a little amount of battery maintained but once the main charge has depleted it will mainly be on ICE and consumption increases considerably.

I have had a P510e AB now for 14 months and just love it. One of the best things is the rear wheel steering that is standard on this model, it greatly improves the manoeuvrability at low speed in town and car parks.
I charge mine all the time and like the fact that if you set a destination in the sat nav it will keep enough battery for the last few miles even on a 150 mile journey. I have just returned from southern Spain have driven nearly 4k miles in 2 months and the average MPH is 43 but keeping to the speed limits.

I use the Tesla charges in France and they will charge the battery in around an hour because the car can take a DC charge at 40KwH per hour. The regen braking will keep adding to the battery like most PHEV's even if its completly emplty.
