The PHEV would be ideal for the shorter journeys and in most cases won’t fire up the engine at all. We have a small P300e Evoque to go with my D350 RRS and it is great for short runs (which are not good for a big diesel).

Doesn't the system work to keep the battery always available? Surely it doesn't allow you to empty it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

There is a little amount of battery maintained but once the main charge has depleted it will mainly be on ICE and consumption increases considerably. |

I have had a P510e AB now for 14 months and just love it. One of the best things is the rear wheel steering that is standard on this model, it greatly improves the manoeuvrability at low speed in town and car parks.
