If I recall what I said was I have had both the TDV8 with 4 pots and the S/C with 6 pots the TDV8 for four years and S/C for over ten years and under what I would consider a normal style of driving I didn't think there was any vastly noticeable difference in braking, however if you needed to stand on them then the 6 pots were obviously better, so I think a lot would depend on your style of driving, if you do a lot of towing, live in a mountainous region etc. or feel the need for the big caliper look and drive it like you stole it which is the only way to drive a S/C sometimes, then maybe yes, all a personal choice I guess.
I have replaced the brake pads several times on the S/C, primarily to find a pad to get rid of the annoying squeal some of the earlier S/C's suffered from, and have had no problems removing the pins, however saying that they do not use salt on the roads here in winter which is probably a major factor, aluminium calipers and steel pins are never a good combination either, so I do smear a little ceramic brake grease on the pins when fitting them.

Thanks for your replies.
I would like to fit 6 pots, as I feel it will be in keeping with the 2010 facelifted look.
The only problem is that to buy a reconditioned set of 6 pots from eBay, their priced at £500 for the pair and because I'm not swapping like for like (mine is 2 pot calipers TDV8), they'll also want a further £300 for not exchanging.
I know Maltings 4x4 sell Eurospare red 6 pots for £306 a side, which isn't too bad, but I know their not Brembo.
There seems to be only one company on eBay that sells reconditioned calipers, the same place I bought my refurbished rear calipers from, they do a good job of painting them and come with new fittings etc, so I assume the refurbished Brembo's would be the same quality, but with a hefty price tag of £800 for the pair, noone else sells them on ebay though, which is a shame so as to compare price.
I know I'll need the 380mm discs and pads and replace the dust sheilds which are easily interchangeable.
Anyone know where I could buy a pair of refurbished calipers cheaper than £800 and are ready to fit as they've been refurbished.
