Noticed my coolant level dropping slowly so pressure tested the system. Very obvious leak from where the top radiator hose connects to the thermostat housing. Found the part online LR034643 for £21. So tried to order from Scuderia parts, non stock item. As soon as I went to check out it said it’s a restricted item and can’t be ordered online. Someone will be in touch to speak about options. So gave my local dealer a call to see what the story is. In their quest for money LR now sell that hose in its three sections individually. The section I need is now £192 alone. Surely that’s a p&£s take?

Has anyone bought coolant hoses lately? Any luck finding one at a reasonable price?

For the 4.4 SDV8 the part no. is LR034643 to vin no. VINGA566160, then supercededs to part no.
LR080119 for vin no. VINGA566161 onwards.

LR online parts catalogue is showing the early one at £26.29 (but no longer available) and the latter no. at £59.26. Maltings 4x4 are showing availability of the latter no. at £49.89 at the following link :-

One of the guys from Scuderia has got back to me. He had said LR no longer supply the part, he has also said, like you say, that LR080119 superseded LR034643. He has listed all there hoses, so assume LR advise replacing all 3 at once. I guess it makes sense, if one o ring has started to leak I guess the rest won’t be far behind.

Phoned LR back and there was a mix up in the first place. He thought I was talking about the lower radiator hose (LR080120), which is indeed £193. So asked him just to order the upper hose (LR080119)as well, as it likely won’t be long till it’s starts to weep also.

It’s a three hose set, 118, 119 and 120 and they require a new thermostat/housing and coolant outlet. They changed the hose sizes so they’re not interchangeable. I’ve already done this exact job on several cars, it’s a pain and not cheap. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately the dealership never mentioned that part. I assume that’s why Scuderia parts listed all 3 hoses. Do you know if the rear hoses that go to the oil cooler etc the same?

I had an issue with that hose on my old L405, I had to buy the new modded / superceded hose and removed the actual bit I needed, pretty sure the rest is in the bottom of a box in the garage. Current

It appears to be o ring on the end nearest the thermostat housing of part 8260A that is leaking. Not sure if other people are able to click on the picture I added, so it’s the hose to the right of the radiator in the picture.

Magic, I was hoping there would be o rings available. Bought some from simply bearings after referencing a thread for the oil cooler gasket job. Much appreciated!

O rings arrived yesterday. I bought the 4mm x 45mm. They were a bit too tight when trying to push the hose back on, even with a good bit of silicon grease applied. So used my Dremel to lightly buff the ID of them. Tried again and there was a decent bit of resistance but they slipped on with some medium force. I should probably went for the 3.5mm x 45mm instead. Anyway it cost me around £20 in parts instead of the best part of £600 and o have a good few spare incase it develops anymore weeps.
