I need to replace my rear brake disc dust shields, one was causing noise and bending it out the way resulted in it crumbling up and I presume this has also caused the parking brake to give a loud screech sound and an error message.

Anyone changed these and is it gonna cost loads? I heard somewhere that everything needs to be removed but also that some people cut them to get them on. Advice from those in the know would be great. I am going to be changing the rear discs and pads myself very soon so maybe I can do it at the same time myself...

Changing them correctly is a world of pain.

Yeah you can cut them in half. And if you have a welder tack them together in a couple of places.

Do some research for the best place to cut them. Vertical or horizontal. Need to be strong for the parking brake

It's not a world of pain. Just need the hub removed and the bearing pressed out and in again

DM, have you been able to press out a rear wheel bearing and not murder it? I just changed one of my rear wheel bearings and if it wasn’t trash when I started it certainly was when I got it out. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory
