In today's AutoExpress magazine is a new spy shot of the new Freelander.

It will be fitted with Terrain Responce and Hill Dsecent. Also has the D3/RRS steering wheel. See the full article at http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/displayim...os=5[/img] Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

So if it gets TR it will also have to have Air Suspension and a transfer box..............? Bet they are expensive options on the upmarket versions - remember the base versions of the D3 don't get TR or airsuspension.
I have heard that it is also getting the 2.2litre Diesel from the X-type Jag and Mondeo.
Also as it has grown a bit I wonder what they are going to slot in beneath it in the range? A new "mini" Freelander/ Defender on a chopped down Mondeo chassis?? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Looks like it has the side vents from the RRS... from what is poking out behind the tree (is that actually attached to vehicle, I wonder? I heard of test cars being disguised but that's just silly! Wink ) it actually looks quite smart.

A lot of camo still on the car, particularly the front. The diesel is supposed to produce 180bhp so it should be a flier. I'm looking at one for the wife to replace her (shhhh Embarassed ) Frontera

I bet when it finally breaks cover for launch it doesn't have the current Freelander nose, something more like the Sport and Discos. Wonder if it will have a split taigate like Disco3 or retain the side opening door?
I like the current Freelander and owned a 2001 TD4 Auto for a couple of years and it was great, and a lot better offroad than most folks would have you imagine, but then most of them also had never driven one offroad either! I said I would not go back to one after the RR but if it is upsizing a bit then I'm sure I could down size further!! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I've only driven a Freelander once, which was recently when the dealer gave me a new one while our RRS was in for the day.
I like the look of Freelanders, but the interior was awful. I have to say it is the worse ergonomics I've seen in a car for years. The plastics were very cheap and old fashioned. It was hideous. Matt

What I would love to see.......is a BASIC plug in the mud
up dated Defender LWB and SWB.......Very basic so you
can off road it and hose it down afterwards........
LR should go back to its roots on this one.....as I for one
would buy one for a weekend run about !!
It should be cheap..fun..and available in lots of colors with
a rag top for the summer for the beach !!!!
C'mon LR get it together and give us a fun 21st century
defender.......just look at what Toyota in japan are up to.....

No TDV6 Crying or Very sad but there is a black badged variant Twisted Evil The front looks very Freelander like, the side view is D3 like and the rear RRS like.

Here's the latest pic of the new Freelander...from this week's Autocar mag.

Too many ideas copied from the Sport for my liking. The Range Rover brand should be seperated more from the Land Rover cars. Matt
