L494 SDV6 84month timing/cam belt change

Hi all,

Newbie to RRS & I have just picked up a MY19 HSE that whilst only has 36k on the clock will require its belts being changed in the coming year.

I purchased from JLR but they’ve said ~£1.8k

Can anyone recommend a decent Indy in the Hampshire/Southampton area & an indication of price?

I reached out to Regal & they wanted regal money @ £1.6k for the interim service & front belt change whereas SCS? Have said just shy of £1.4k or £1k for both front & rear belts.

Thanks in advance

19 plate SDV6? Thought they had changed over to straight sixes by then. Anyway, if it is an SDV6 the belt change is at 7 years or 112k miles. Ive got a 17 plate and recently had it done by Land Rover for £1.4k.

If its the usual 3.0 tdv6 - you can just get the timing belt done at the back where the manifolds are, the other belt is the fuel pump belt if this goes you would just come to stop when driving if it every did go, they usually check it when doing the timing belt, it wouldn't damage the engine. Most indys are usually £700-£800 on just the timing belt swap.

I second the recommendation of glenrands

I asked a similar question about a year ago. Used them recently. Very impressed. The gave me good advice on what my low mileage vehicle actually needed doing. Price was good as well RRS 4.4 SDV8 AB 2018 – Best of all previous vehicles
RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE 2016 - Lovely vehicle but 2 cylinders missing. Gone
Discovery 4 SDV6 2015 HSE - Gone
RRS TDV8 HSE 2007 – My intro to RRS. Lovely vehicle. Gone
BMW 540 1998. - Highly tuned and ran for ever. Much missed. Gone
