Defender wheels on L494

Hi all, I have tried searching the voluminous archives but cannot find the answer to my question.

Can I fit 19"/20" Defender wheels to my RRS Autobiography (the red calipers if they are relevant)?

I'd be looking at either the 20s with 255/60/r20 or 19s with 255/65/r19.

TIA

Dean

I asked a similar question a while ago, no answers.

As you have also noted, there is a lot of info, but none specific to late model (2016) AB cars with the big RED brakes.

Interested to see if you get any replies..

There is nothing specific about big "Red" brakes, they are simply 6 pot brembo's painted red, some svr's and other models are painted Blue, others simply have the Land Rover logo on them, I think most of the later L494's had them one colour or another anyway, the wheels on the Sport will be 5 x 120 PCD, can't remember the bore diam offhand but I think it is 72.56mm though. There a few different offset's though depending on rim diameter/style etc. The option for 19" rims that fit over the 6 pot brembo's used to be very limited.

Cheers

I'm not sure the L494 (at least at the end of its life) was even offered with 19in rims was it Col? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Not sure either Wayne, should have stated that I was just referring to about 19" rims fitting over the 6 pots in general, could be the new defender 19" have enough clearance to fit over the brembo's, would have thought someone may have tried by now.

Cheers

I chickened out and went for 20" Discovery 5 wheels instead. Just as well as there's very little clearance over the calipers even with those.

I went from 22" rims with 35 profile Davanti tyres, to 20" rims with 55 profile Pirelli Scorpions. I was hoping for a dramatic improvement in ride quality, and while there's some - it's less crashy over poor surfaces - it's still firmer than I'd like. I guess I need to recalibrate my expectations after years of Discovery ownership.

Those rims fit fine on old Vogue and old and new Disco, so I am assuming new RRS should be OK as well?

Defender L663 style 5098 20" wheels onto my 2016 4.4sdv8 RRS..... ok so haven't seen these wheels on an rrs locally and maybe there's a reason I'm missing, according to wheel-size.com they will fit with 255 x 55 x 20 tyres leaving circumference very close to oem 275x45x21. Oem wheels have 47 offset on 9.5j rims, these have 41.5 offset on 8.5 rims and with the 255x55 tyres on its showing a positive scrub of 4mm but with 44 offset its 0 scrub..... Also 0 scrub with 275x55x20 BUT bigger circumference...... so my question is will the slight positive scrub be better than messing up speedo and 30mm bigger diameter
