How to disable keyless entry on RRS on 2024MY

How do you disable the keyless entry on the RRS 2024MY?

I have already disabled the walk away option but whenever i'm close to the car with the keys in my pocket, the doors are still opening.

Hi,

Why disable ”walk away”, surely that’s a good security feature!

I always press the “lock” button on the door twice before I walk away, that way it automatically double locks the car - even better.

Hi, I thought the walk away and approached unlocking was the keyless entry initially. Made to figure out how to disable keyless entry by pressing the headlights button 3 times and unlock button once on the key fob. So whenever I'm near the car with the key in my pocket, door doesn't open unless I physically use the key fob and press unlock button.

I will try and enable the "walk away" feature and see if the keyless entry is still disable

Hi,

If you’re “near the car” and press the unlock button on the fob, why not just touch the unlock button on the door handle and leave the fob in your pocket?

Yeah that was how I unlock initially before I disabled keyless entry. so now i have to use key fob to unlock and lock since disabling keyless entry as it doesn't work anymore when I'm near the car.

Next step will be to re-enable walk away and approaching unlocking to see if doors will open when i'm near the car by pressing the button on the door handle

Currently have a Mazda which allows key to be powered down when not used by a button sequence - I can’t find instructions to do this with RRS key Confused

Some insurers have refused to insure and some said key must be in faraday cage - according to LRs website since 2021 keys aren’t susceptible to relay attacks so I’m confused Rolling Eyes

I’m a bit annoyed we were discussing this issue back in 2013 when I had my Black Edition and had to fit a disklok and use a faraday pouch - I thought by now they’d have sorted it but judging from the number of insurers refusing to quote me obviously not Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!
