Dealers can sometimes be wrong. Mine thought that the charging cycle staying at "Initialising" for over eight hours after reaching 100% might well be normal when it clearly isn't (changing to a different charging cable resolved this for me).

Some of my trips have hills as well and I've not really noticed any difference in my stated EV range.

I wonder if there's any documentation for this in Topix - I've not been able to successfully log in to the site for some time now, but when I did I couldn't see anything of any real value (since I'm just a normal user). 2021 P400e Autobiography

Spoke to the dealer. Apparently the range estimate is based on the last 40 miles driven. It is relatively hilly where I am I guess but still doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not like I’ve had the aircon/seats on the whole time which they also said was a factor. Will give it longer to see if it changes when my drives start to vary a bit

Predicted range is of great interest, but more important is what you are achieving.

How many miles are you travelling and what percentage of battery is used to achieve that? 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

On my fortnightly 75m trip to the office this morning, my journey tracker is showing 22 miles EV distance.

I wasn't hypermiling though.

Looking back at my trip logs, the most I really get is 22 miles.

However, my stated range prediction is usually 29/31 miles, so I don't know whether actual range is turns out to be a percentage of that. It would be interesting to see what the actual range of someone with a lower predicted range is. 2021 P400e Autobiography

Started this morning on the usual 21 predicted. Drove 2.6 miles. It’s now showing 16 miles and 86%

Do you have the Land Rover “Remote” app and relevant subscriptions? That should show you the actual EV distance per trip - a lot better than looking at the driver display in the car. 2021 P400e Autobiography

Yes I use the app. Tells me all 2.6 this morning were EV. I think I’m going to run it without charging on EV only and see what total I get

You might well find that it'll run in EV mode of it's own choice.

Something else worth keeping in mind is that the car will selectively use EV mode on Sat Nav journeys so that you (allegedly) get better efficiency over the whole journey - it'll choose when to use EV based on GPS and traffic conditions.

EV mode will give you the little triangle on the power guage to let you know when it's in EV mode (and how much power use will take it into ICE mode, but this doesn't (for some reason) show when you're not in EV mode (i.e. haven't pressed the EV mode button).

If the EV button hasn't been pressed, you can only see what mode the car is in by using the "My EV" screen (or listening for the engine). 2021 P400e Autobiography

Well at least that adds up.

2.6 is 14% of 18.57, so would leave 16 miles.

You need to go further than 2.6 miles to check this out, EV's are just like ICE cars and need to warm up.
In our case the battery temperature affects range.

Go for some longer drives and then check your EV mileage. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Yes, on fairly cold days, to can take a while for the EV to start working - batteries need to be up to temperature.

The EV button won't force the car into EV mode all of the time.

And if you're someone who turns off start/stop habitually, then EV mode won't work at all. 2021 P400e Autobiography

So far I’ve always got the EV button pressed
as I know it’s short journeys that don’t need ICE. The ICE doesn’t start so at least I know there’s no issue with the HV heater! I have a 36 mile round trip tomorrow so will see what EV range I get!

Thanks again all for the input!

No problem.

Nice to have something else to read other than ACE pipes and crankshaft failures! 2021 P400e Autobiography

Ok so 17.5 mile each way journey. Did the first leg EV only, got 4.5 EV on the return leg and I have 8% battery left. Hot day with air con and cooled seat on for part of it. I make that a total range of about 24 miles?

After a few different types of journeys, some EV, some hybrid, 100% range is now showing 27. So I guess it’s ok!

On Sunday, I did a 35 mile trip mainly in Dynamic/Sport mode - 26mpg, so no hypermiling.

Charged up on returning home and still got 31 miles stated range.

For the full 80 mile round trip, I got 32 miles of EV mode.

Not quite sure how that worked out, but that's what the trip logs say. 2021 P400e Autobiography
