Transfer box-diff or torque convertor

Tonight the stick hitting a fence noise reappeared. It sounds for all the workd like something hitting the propshaft or the cv in centre failed. I feel the vibration through the floor, underneath the car I can replicate the noise while moving the propshaft... video shows the noise. Propshaft does not feel 'right' at all. centre bearing appears ok, rear diff both shafts attempt to move when I move propshaft slightly (neutral selected on g'box) Is the clunk from propshaft/transfer box to much?
What symptoms does a failing transfer box manifest as?
I will be removing prop tomorrow after work ans take it from there. But any help as in direction to look would be greatly appreciated.
I also can't figure out how to upload a video 😂

Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yes, I did. Applogies for not updating the thread It was the new Propshaft which was at fault. The splines
from shaft into the front UJ that bolts to the Transfer Box were the issue. All 4 wheel bearings and a
front diff later! Front diff did have quite a bit of play on the n/s bearings though so that was needing fixed anyway.

I think i have the same noise. Like a rotational dunk dunk dunk

Was it the rear prop you replaced that cured it

Kind regards 2010 RRS, TDV6

Yes, the rear section. I bought the faulty one from Amazon for £169 and it was on perhaps 4-5 weeks. Reason for changing it was the centre bearing/bushing was away. Genuine RR prop back on it now though.

I could replicate the noise by turning at the propshaft by hand underneath the car. Not as loud or definitive but it gave clear indication.

Thanks for getting back to me i will have a look
The noise you described is the noise i think im getting, though i dont know if my ears are playing tricks on me but im adamant its coming from the front. Hence why ive replaced both front drive shafts and the front diff. They're definitely a labour of love these things haha 2010 RRS, TDV6

That sounds the exact same issue as I had. I was 100% convinced it was the front end somewhere. When under the car and twisting at the propshaft by hand I couldn't get it to make the exact noise or even really feel much play but I did get the hollow 'tingy' strange noise for like 1 click if that makes sense?

Under load was when I noticed it most. At end up it was quite distinct. I'm sure that will be the issue with yours as well.

I notice the noise on mine the most in reverse to be honest. As im reversing into my parking space at home. Its safe to say that i was very annoyed when i heard it the day i replaced the front diff Rolling Eyes 2010 RRS, TDV6
