P400e or Diesel 3.0? 2018/19

Which is the more reliable one? used mainly for shortish runs 10-15 milles i read on hear that both have their problems heaters and cranks.
Owners' opinions are much appreciated. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

If you are making short trips them the P400e is best, just make sure you have a good warranty what ever you buy.

I have had one for 2 years and no issues. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

2013 HSE Black, Orkney Grey, Ebony Seats and Ivory Interior SOLD

Reading on here it seems there are problems with the P400e so I have now started to look at Macans. Rolling Eyes The wife likes these. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

I doubt T here are no more problems with RR hybrids than other hi marque makes…. With the kind of mileage you mention, the hybrid would be most cost effective

the question is which Diesel do you mean?
the old V6 or the new inline-six?

the V6 is a great engine but suffering from oil dilution and, in few cases, from crankshaft issues (broken crankshaft..)
it's an older engine architecture, which was optimised over years and with the DPF technology it was "far" away from the heat-centre of the engine, so that oil dilution during non-completed regenerations can occure.

the new inline-six seem to have fixed this issue, because it's a complete new engine built by JLR.
I had the V6 and have now the inline six Diesel (D350).

I drive 3 times a week to office (one way 15km -> 9-10miles) and can't complain in any way. it's a great, highly refined engine and the engine makes you feel driving a petrol engine..
regarding regenerations: I keep an eye on the actual fuel consumption and in the meantime I know, when the DPF regen kicks in based on the fuel consumption.

three or four times a year I drive one-way 1000km so that for me the new Diesel is fitting perfect.

the new engines were implemented from end of 2020 in the cars - so probably you can search from 2020 onwards..
