If you drive at walking pace and tap the brakes, does it knock then? Would suggest lower front arm bushes.

I had something similar... Eventually tracked it down to a 22mm impact socket, which the mechanic had left/dropped behind the front grille.

Update: car has been to the garage but everything seems tight. Had new arms etc. last year and don’t do many miles per year. Knock is still present, trouble is that it is so intermittent. |

Strangely enough, I had both front bearings done about a year ago. Certainly worth investigating… |
