At least with an key/alarm/steering lock/wiring to overcome it took them longer & no issue getting theft insurance.

Not bragging or anything but I contacted NFU recently knowing the P460 was coming soon and they said insure it no issues. I said are you sure given the value etc and they said yes wouldn't be a problem Regards

Lots of other makes have key-free access systems exactly like LRs do, so it isn't key-free that is the reason for the thefts of LRs. The issue is that the vehicles are in high demand with certain people that don't know/care that they're buying a stolen item. The blame lies with the scrotes that do the dirty work and those that buy stolen goods. The fault does not lie with the blameless people buying new cars from manufacturers. Luddite tendencies mixed with victim blaming isn't helping anyone here. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

It does seem to be very much a postcode lottery, sadly. And even people posting on here in places that might seem to be "safe" are struggling, so there must be some very fine granularity in the insurance data being used in the decision to insure/not insure/charge a fortune. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Well at least I don't appear to have to express my opinion on nearly everthing like some people on here (& elsewhere), a bit like that bloke in the pub that no-one likes. Oh, & FWIW I was not blaming victims, simply pointing out that our acceptance of conveiniance makes it easier for the scrotes. Lets just agree to differ then & leave it at that. 2006 RRS 2.7 HSE. |

You should try a different pub, in that case. Surely there's one where people will like you. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I was about to cancel my Dynamic P460e order after 12m with no build date in sight after the insurance jumped from £1400 to £3600 in 3/4 months. While it’s not a significant cost (vs the cost of the car) I was put off by another issue with increasing prices. However…i put my wife as the first name driver and it dropped to £1200!! It looks like i had been running soft checks against my name/credit profile every few days on GoCompare/Comparethemarket and it had artificially rocketed the insurance price. If you have spouses or partners, i would suggest trying with their name to bring the cost to normal levels. Seems strange that it makes such a huge difference, but i reckon GoCompare/Comparethemarket tracks you with cookies or credit checks and adjusts the price to make you jump before prices “increase” again. |

Interesting. Worth remembering that if the person named as the principal driver doesn't drive it much and the insurance co figures it out, they can void a claim. Which gets very unpleasant, very quickly. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

What a nightmare indeed - I managed to work something with Admiral - adding house insurance also lowered it significantly.
