England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
gearbox serviced- now not starting

Hello RRS forum

I have a 2006 2.7 TDV6 RRS

I have recently changed the valve and solenoids during a gearbox service due to a fault with one of the solenoids (pulled for a working spare gearbox)

Now the car won't start. I believe the car thinks it isn't in park as I am also unable to remove the key from the ignition barrel unless I remove the battery. I have disconnected the gear linkage cable and shifted the gears back and forth a few times to try pass oil around the gearbox. I have done this with the ignition off, maybe I have to do this with power to the car to power the solenoids?

I have tested the fuses for the starter and they all seem to be working fine. I have also tested the battery and getting 12.8v so that seems to be fine.

Any ideas on what the fault might be?

Thanks for your help

Yeah good point. There is that slider on the megatronics unit that needs to be engaged or in the right posssition at the gear selection leaver.

I was going to suggest the main connector wasn’t fully seated.

Sounds like your going to have to drain the fluid and get back in there.
