To me it does not matter about demand, they are still beinf stolen, RR have to do more to stop them being stolen regardless of the reason |

I'm new to the RR fold, been looking for a RRS A/B and located a new one at dealer.

One of the biggest risks for an underwriter when covering RR's is the possiblity of a theft claim - lets face it, they are often never, ever seen again after being stolen.

If the high premiums are beacuse of thefts then there will become a point where it will be more cost effective (on the lower end, value wise) to delete theft cover & install some of your own security. 2006 RRS 2.7 HSE. |

Good luck if you have to claim - I found them very unhelpful (to the point of being obstructive) when insured through them. Their preferred repairers were borderline rude too. 2006 RRS 2.7 HSE. |

I think the biggest concern for us owners is not only the exorbitant insurance cost but the second hand resale value of the cars that we own is going to freefall dramatically..

Absolutely agree - the insurance prices have gone from c.£1000 to over £3000 in the space of 3/4 months. I can swallow a certain amount, but nearly £300 a month for insurance would put a lot of people off. Even after waiting 12m for their build slot and absorbing an £8k price increase. Looks like even a ghost tracker doesn’t decrease the premium much, so might not be worth the £500 installation fee. I’d be curious to see what others are getting current insurance prices for (I’m 35 with good NCD and live in Edinburgh city centre with low crime rates). |

I think equal anger should be directed to the Police… not just the OEM’s who are struggling with this new criminality..

I would certainly consider it on anything worth less than £10k & install additional security. But, the fault really does lie with us by being lazy &/or accepting all this keyless entry/stop/start . 2006 RRS 2.7 HSE. |
