Is it the one piece or the split tailgate? only a suggestion, but if it's the one piece have you tried resetting the height opening setting to see if that does anything.

Hi, it's the one piece tailgate, but nothing happens when I try to reset. No beeps, no noises, nothing. It's as if there is no signal getting to the button. Which is weird because there's obviously a signal getting to the tailgate because the catch releases from the dashboard and the remote. |

Have you had the fault codes read? as there are quite a few listed for the tailgate control module.

I didn't get the code, but the mechanic said it was the button. This is why I'm so confused. |

There would appear to only be three wires on the close switch, signal, earth and illumination, so if you have changed the switch and no change, then I would initially trace the signal wire to the tailgate control module for a break, unfortunately it's a black wire so there are probably a lot of them in the harness.
