Roof rail covers

I did a search but didnt come up with anything.
Does anybody know how to safely remove the strips along the roof that you would remove to fit roof rails?
I already broke one of the clips (big red square thing) so gave up pending advice.
There must be a safe technique surely? RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

Not sure if this helps (extract from the LR fitting instructions for L494 roof rails). Looks like you need a trim removal tool with a split blade.

Here’s a link to the full fitting instructions for the roof rails: https://accessories-instructions.landrover...3417322024

Many thanks, I only need to remove the covers to access the drains.
If its been raining, as soon as I go down my drive, a lot of water runs down the windscreen. Im assuming the drains are blocked, but I cant see where the drain tubes exit from, so want to go in from the top. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

Drains exit just in front of the rear wheels.
Pop the inner strip off, the one closest to the pano windscreen if you have one.
Theres a hole about half way down the roof/pano screen.
The drain hole sort of faces the front of the car so look back down the car when trying to find it.
A lot have come loose or broken off recently due to the nipple been attached to the sunroof cassette and been aluminum.
You can double check the drain tube by popping off the rubber weather strip around the inner door on the rear seats and putting your hand through the headlining you should be able to feel it, it should be pretty sturdy, if it feels loose you will need to stick a small jubliee clip around it to keep it connected as the nipple has probably started rusting off the sunroof cassette.
Thumbs Up

Thanks, but if I can locate the drain tube exit, could I feed something upwards such as a strimmer line to clear out any blockage?
I do have a pan sunroof but I'm worried about breaking the clips that hold the strip on. I already broke a clip on the roof rail cover. Is there a technique?
Should I order some clips in advance of removal just in case? RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

There pretty strong to be fair, you need to stick a trim popper tool underneath with a cloth underneath the side closest to edge of the car so you don't mark you paint work, then work the trim popper from one end of the car to the other, lay the trim tool flat then turn it 90 degrees so it lifts the trim up and off.
