Ordered Dynamic SE p440e last week, 23rd March. Just seen the £5450 base price rise thanks to your post.

Exactly, it is a lot of money to spend on a car so it would be nice to get the spec that I ordered. It was disappointing enough to hear about the Meridian sound system downgrade, but it just seems to be one thing after the other at this point.

Yes I’ve noticed the significant price hike. When I ordered my RRS P440E Dynamic SE in September I asked about the price being fixed from the order date. The dealer told me this no longer applies basically we’ll have to price the current price. |

Surely if we have paid a deposit against a price that’s not right is it. ??? |

Depends on the contract you have signed. As far as I remember, the contracts I signed for all the cars I have ever purchased had escalation clauses to allow for increased manufacturing costs, fx changes, force majeure, etc. The only protection the purchaser had was the ability to cancel the contract without penalty if the price changed by more than xx%.

I am not sure I will be happy if they ring me this week wanting an extra £5500.

If that is the case I may end up cancelling my order; being asked to pay another £5k doesn’t really sit well with me. |

Nobody has price protection on the L461 I’m afraid. The price you will pay is the one prevailing at the time of delivery. As others have said, you will be able to get your deposit back should you want it. |

That's a big jump the £1200 was understandable and other manufactures did similar but an extra £5500 ive also noticed a 3% increase in the APR to go along with it. |

If it is applying to existing orders that will be the final straw for me!! To be frank I am leaning towards cancelling it anyway. Like you I ordered my 440e AB in May, chased dealer last week.... usual response, no news and we can't give you a build date... but some other cars are coming through so it might be soon... |

Those in the UK looking to privately purchase, order or about to collect a new Range Rover can I suggest you do a quick check on insurance costs.. for my SVR it was £640 last year for 25,000 business use miles.. this year it has jumped to £2460! Fine if you are super rich or you can get your company to take the loss but private buyers beware..
